Position Summary

The Inside Sales Representative sells and services new and existing accounts. The position performs sales and service functions for targeted markets, programs, and sales of additional material as assigned. Close contracts for partner programs, at monthly goals, that ensure partner and customer satisfaction.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Answering, assisting, and directing all incoming telephone calls to appropriate parties in a professional and courteous manner
  • Initiating and following up with customers to sell products, resolve problems, and answer questions
  • Preparing, processing, reviewing and monitoring various documents such estimates
  • Contacting current and prospective customers to sell and introduce new products, via phone or email.
  • Arranging payment terms in accordance with established guidelines
  • Collecting and receiving payments such as cash, check and credit cards
  • Creating and maintaining computer customer accounts
  • Providing advisory support and assistance to the department supervisor as needed.
  • Responds to requests from customers for information or samples
  • Engages in technical discussions with potential clients through demonstrations
  • Attending sales meetings or educational activities to stay up-to-date on the latest developments, trends, regulations in the market place
  • Upholding professionalism by providing courteous customer service to visitors, clients, and vendors
  • Performing other work-related duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High School diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Related experience and/or training
  • Industry experience and sales experience is preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts, policies, documents and regulations
  • Ability to write reports and compose business correspondence
  • Ability to effectively establish rapport, present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, and volume; ability to apply concepts of basic accounting
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form
  • Computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Word
