Baseshoe

Base shoe is a thin strip of molding that is paired with baseboard, then stained or painted to match your trim. Shoe molding adds a decorative touch while covering any gaps that might lie between the bottom of baseboard and the floor.

While baseboard alone covers most of the gap, its larger size and relative stiffness doesn’t conform well to an uneven floor leaving visible gaps. Base shoe’s smaller size allows it to finish the job, leaving a more finished aesthetic.
