What Is Strike Jamb?

The side jamb where the latch or strike hardware engages when the door closes.

The strike jamb is the jamb member opposite the hinge jamb. It receives the strike plate or other latch hardware so the door can close and secure correctly.

Confirm handing, door bore position, strike preparation, backset, and latch hardware dimensions. Accurate alignment is important for smooth closing and reliable latching.
