A door that opens by moving horizontally along a track instead of swinging on hinges.

A sliding door moves horizontally along a track or guide system. Sliding configurations can be surface mounted, recessed into a pocket, or incorporated into other specialty door systems.

Buying Considerations

Determine the track style, door thickness, available wall clearance, overlap, opening width, and hardware requirements. Sliding systems need adequate space for the door to travel and may require a floor guide.
