What Is Shoe Moulding?

A narrow trim profile used at the bottom of baseboard to cover small gaps between baseboard and flooring.

Shoe moulding is a small, narrow trim profile installed along the bottom of baseboard. It is commonly used to conceal minor gaps created where the base meets the finished floor.

Buying Considerations

Choose a profile size that is large enough to cover the gap but proportionate to the baseboard. Coordinate the material and finish with the base and flooring.
