What Is Kerf?
A narrow groove cut into a door or frame edge to receive a seal, weatherstrip, or other inserted component.
A kerf is a narrow slot machined into a door or frame component so a compatible seal or insert can be pressed or fitted into place. Kerf details help integrate seals without adding a separate exposed fastener system.
