What Is Intumescent Seal?
A material that expands when exposed to heat and is used to help protect gaps in certain fire-rated door assemblies.
An intumescent seal is a heat-reactive material that expands when exposed to elevated temperatures. In rated door assemblies it can help close or protect gaps around the door or frame as part of the tested assembly.
