What Is Hinge Leaf?

One of the two flat plates of a hinge that attaches to the door or frame.

A hinge leaf is one of the two plates connected by the hinge knuckle. One leaf attaches to the door and the other attaches to the jamb or frame, allowing the door to rotate around the hinge pin.
