What Is Chair Rail?
Horizontal wall moulding traditionally installed around a room at approximately chair-back height.
Chair rail is a horizontal moulding applied to the wall, traditionally used to protect wall surfaces from chair backs. Today it is also used to divide wall treatments and add architectural detail.
